For everyone out there, you don't really need to take out the last part, I removed the base because I bought a monitor stand and the last part can be left alone. It seems like there's no way to screw in the metal part of the monitor stand with the old part in the way, but if you slide the part in an upwards motion you'll have enough space to do it. Also thanks for the tutorial!

Fantastic video showing why this monitor should never be bought. Its like the engineers were deliberately pissed off at Samsung, I can't imagine anyone saying ok to this design intentionally.

man what a stupid design from samsung. you shouldnt need to take apart the panel to take the base off.

2:02 you will probably butcher the slat. But that's OK. You only need to pry it apart enough to slide a spludger (or guitar pick / credit card) in the gap and work that to the right until you hear a click. After that you can carefully pry the rest apart using your hands and the spludger. Don't worry if you butcher the first gap, it seems unavoidable. What a fantastic video. I needed to remove the bracket to fit a Herman Miller monitor arm. The Herman Miller bracket was too large so this had to go. I'm so pleased I was able to do it with this expert guidance and the only damage was on that first gap. This video reminds me of what YouTube used to be. Thanks from London. Right here goes monitor #2.

Update: I didn't butcher the plastic on the second one. The secret is to use the correct size screwdriver. If it is just right the plastic will come apart without damage. Too small and it will just damage the plastic. If that does happen it's not a disaster though. Just use the gap created to start prying.

Excellent video, incredibly stupid design. Had to do this on 2 CF390 Samsungs. The first worked fine. The second now has a 4" band of dead pixels from top to bottom in the right hand side. I've bought a total of 4 Samsung monitors. From now on I'm going with another brand. I can't afford to pay double or triple price for a monitor due to ridiculous design.

Your video was excellent. With your help, I've just completed monitor surgery. It was the scariest thing I've done all year. We have to wait until she wakes up before we can assess how the surgery went but so far everything looks good.

Literally just needed to remove that stem portion… THANK YOU. My shoulder almost popped before the damn thing would come out initially.

Thank you, I couldn't have gotten this done without you. I hate that now the motherboard is exposed to dust and dirt.

Thank you very much. Without your video I wouldn't be able to mount my monitor on a vertical stand

God bless you. First time having a wall mount for my monitor, and it started to worry me that I didn't see any visible screws from the outside that was holding the stand. Your video really helped! <3

Glad I finished the video before starting because this is ridiculous and I’d honestly rather get a new monitor than mess with this pos any longer.
