CSGO Becomes PAY TO PLAY 'Because of Cheaters'!

In this one we are taking a look at CSGO (Counter Strike Global Offensive) and Valve's new way of making money with the game, charging players for the ability to matchmake in ranked modes and saying it's "because of cheaters" they have decided to do this. Let me know your thoughts below :D

It should be noted that Destiny 2, at least on PC, is rife with cheaters in PvP. And many people in their community both believe that going free to play (when there was a bunch of free content) opened the door to more cheaters, and also believe requiring payment to play PvP would reduce the instances of cheating.

Whatever they end up doing, they better figure it out. Because cross play for Strikes is in beta in the live game, and Crucible PvP is supposedly being released this year.

If PC cheaters start infecting the console landscape that's gonna be disasterous.

Apex is pondering about doing the same thing. Probably because they heard that another f2p game would be generating more money from it. Weird thing is that from polls they launched online it seemed the public had majority support for this. And initially I agreed too. However if the funds raised from this endeavour are not put back into the anticheat to make it harder for cheaters then I have to agree with you, it's just not going to make any difference. You said it perfectly. These cheaters are already paying for the cheats to begin with. On console I think the DDoS people are even purchasing to conduct that behaviour so yeah it's unlikely $10 is going to really deter them.

So three years ago, Valve released a battle royale mode, and went free to play to cash in on the PUBG/Fortnite hype train. All the cheaters brought into the game was apparently "fine" to Valve for three years.

In 2021, battle royale stopped bringing in cash, and Valve finally have to acknowledge how much going F2P is hurting the CORE game/player base. Just like clock work, money talks.

World of Warcraft have multi boxing which is illegal in game, its five accounts times whatever it is a month (£9.99 x 5 nearly £50) a month and the cheaters stick with it consistently until their banned.

Cs should have better anti cheat systems, better reporting facilities and ban every cheater.

Sorry mate, but as much as i usually agree with you, and yes, a corporation will always demand more money from its customers, i have to point out that this change in CSGO is absolutely what people were asking for, ever since the game went free to play.
People were getting botted prime accounts for dirt cheap to cheat and phone numbers are also very, VERY cheap to get, so the game was infested with cheaters, which is why i have not played the game myself in 3 months.
Valve's Anti-Cheat is not bad, but CSGO being THE most popular competitive FPS, it's only natural it will have also a lot of cheaters.
This change is exactly what the community needed, and i might actually get back to playing soon.
Valve wanting that extra money because of greed does not take away the fact that these changes were very much needed and should have been the default when the game went free to play.

People have been cheating in f2p and others for gone over 15yrs at least company's don't deal with it cause there spending money

Is anyone over the age of 30 surprised? Kids that are raised by their parents credit cards are the reason games are trash today. Companies have cashed on lazy parenting and the increase in instant gratification and fomo. Don't want to wait...pay. Don't want to put any effort in...pay. You wouldn't want to be the only without this...pay. Oh well, gaming had it's time in the sun. These days we only end up with half baked games that cater only for Streamers and Children. And streamers will never bite the hand the feeds them.

Nah i gotta disagree with you for the first time. If you actually play cs competitively ever since they made it free to play its virtually unplayable due to the overt cheating. This is good besides I bought this game in 2009 so i dont have to pay anyway
This will clamp down on it being so bad. There will be significantly less and they will be easier to spot and there will be less.

CSGO, Sorry never heard of this game. Loads of pvp games, and other games will always have cheats.

I was master Guardian elite in CS 😭 started out to play when it was free for the first time I am a student so I can't pay for it I think they should have never made this game free .if you want to remove cheater make your guard stronger rather than making it pay to play I think it is the time to go to valorant finally bye bye cs
