Edit an Entire Wedding in 1-Hour! | Master Your Craft

A typical 8-hour wedding will leave you with around 3000 photos to sort through. Looking at the number, it sounds like a long day of editing ahead, right? Well, by tweaking a few settings and steps, you can trim down your editing time to a fraction of what it is right now. In this video, Pye walks through how you can edit an entire wedding in less than an hour using Lightroom Classic.

Concise, to the point and filled with some highly useful tips that I already use and some new ones I implemented to expedite my workflow! Take what you want from this video, leave what doesn't appeal to your personal workflow. Pye isn't forcing anyone to subscribe to his presets or AI; just putting it out there as options. Great tutorial, thank you. I do think editing 3000 shots, including culling, in 1 hour is a bit over optimistic though. That’s 1 sec per image just for the culling. 😊

I dont get it - how to find your camera settings just once per scene/environment if you like to focus on different things/motives in the same environment? Eg closeups vs totals, slight perspective changes may lead to different lightning and so on... 🤔 So, if every little change of perspective leads to a different "scene" per definition I might although come up with hundrets of different scenes at the end.

I did try the culling 1500 photos on macbookpro M1 32 gig ram.. Lr 12.1.. RAW photos on desktop. painful slow. I can see the thing going around and thinking thinking thinking. I am going back to photo mechanic or Fast reviewer. thank you thou

Pye & everyone else here. Do not pay any attention to white balance if you are shooting raw. White balance can only be adjusted in post for raw files.

An add to the Lightroom Import tip: Create a New Catalog for each wedding. If you use only one catalog for your photos in LR, it will become slower and slower over time and backups will take much longer. Going back to work on that one wedding in its own Catalog is much faster than trying to open LR with a gazillion photos! 😉

I am 2 weddings into using Impossible Things. Much better than Imagine AI. The use of my presets was the reason that this is superior.

Sorry but you made a mistake here, compressed raw does NOT make your computer run fast because of smaller files, the opposite is the case. Because your computer has to decompress and load everything into the memory, your editor will run slower. Especially while browsing your images.

In step 9 I would add match total exposure
