My thought on the wave forms is it adds more of a potential bottleneck of the back and forth data between the computer and controller and to me that ends up causing latency which is kind of what you experience with scratching. So their fix for lowering latency is not having moving waveforms which makes the platters more accurate. I would much rather have accuracy low latency vs waveforms moving all day.

i feel like theres an easy way to get around these problems. like i dont know just using the unit as a stand alone

I use prime 4 in the club.
Since it has Tidal which is all I really need (yes, it is a very comercial club), no need for serato for me. Been using prime 4 for a year.
The fact that, there is no computer between me and the clients made a HUGE difference.
One day, the Tidal wasn't working for Denon hardware for some reason and I had to use serato. What I noticed is that I couldn't use something on the unit. I think it was usb sticks. Try it. In computer mode, If im not mistaken, you are not allowed to use usb sticks in the unit. Something you can in the pioneer hardware.
Anyway. Prime 4 for me. by far, the best one

Denon: it’s a standalone unit, be thankful you can use serato at all.
User: but why?
Denon: wait to buy our new controller.
(The entire time it’s just a soft/firmware limitation because they dont want you to or inner politics. Ie prime go)
