Neither of these 2 methods worked for me, but I did discover that "file and printer sharing" was turned off (on my machine). When I turned "file and printer sharing" ON, the problem went away. Wise to check for this too.

Is this for LAN or WiFi.. I experinece frequent timeouts and pingspikes (from 100-3000 ms) every 2 or 3 minutes, so i would really like to know :D
