Sisters in Arms

Women who once fought hand in hand with their male comrades in the two decade long armed insurgency from 1989 onward by United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) in the Indian northeastern states of Assam are now living a live of hardship coupled with a gendered stigma and deprivation and injustice. This short film accounts some of the first hand accounts of ex-cadres of the women comrades of ULFA as they live in a corner of the society struggling to cope up with the present socially, economically and as women.

This film was awarded Honourable Jury Mention at 4th Noida International Film Festival 2017.
