Thiem hasn't been the same since his injury so sadly he's not really a threat. Wawrinka also is past his prime. Love both players but their rankings do reflect where they're at in terms of their skills.

I’m curious to see if Hurkacz and especially de Minaur actually play the US Open. If not, could definitely give opportunity for some players to move into more ideal seedings or even allow some players to be seeded in general

A lot of bottom 8 seeds could potentially be very dangerous for the top 8 seeds in the third round, due to how well some of them have been playing.

On the wta, im pretty sure no one wants to play putintseva, svitolina, and especially an in-form badosa who really should be at least top 15 with her level over the last few weeks.

On the atp, you gotta watch out for draper, popyrin, cobolli, and maybe even lechecka if hes recovered from injury.

The significance of the Olympics is that a lot of the top players only had one hc tournament before the USO. In the cases of Alcaraz and Rybakina it is just one match. I think the carnage in top seeds seem at Canadian Masters and Cincinnati will be repeated.I suspect Sinner and Sabalenka will be favourites given they were able to fully use the Canadian Masters and Cincinnati to refine their hard court game.

Things will return to normal at the big Chinese 1000 tournaments in late September and early October.

Not sure about the dangerous unseeded women player. Few shown recent form and in the case of Raducanu her last match was more than 3 weeks prior to USO.
