James May was originally scheduled to film this visit, but after refusing to leave for 3 days, Amalgam had to have him forcibly removed, and now is subject to a restraining order. Turns out it takes that long to tidy and organise a 1/8 scale full tools cabinet.

I thought I was being excessive buying a 40 euro model of my car. These guys should setup a museum with dioramas and history lessons about all the cars.

Works of art, actually. Precise examples of modern engineering and fabrication, both in real life and these scale reproductions. As an avid aircraft modeller and die-cast collector, I heartily approve! Bravo!

I'm a full-time scale modeler catering to collectors. These are simply works of art, and their customers are paying for the time a dedication these artists put into each piece. Beautiful work.

The SR 71 looks like a revel model I put together when I was 14 years old. It doesn’t look anything special. Now that Red Bull RB 18 now that’s pretty sweet although there is no way I’m paying 30, 000 pounds for that thing to just sit in there and collect dust. These models are almost only for the rich, because nobody in their right mind would purchase that who lives in a trailer.

As a scale modeller, who mostly focuses on aircraft, I loved this video. The cars look fantastic but I can't be the only one that noticed the decals on that SR-71 weren't on properly. You can see the film quite clearly. For the SR-71 where the finish is a matte black it's a common problem which is why a lot of modellers cut masks and spray the markings on instead.

I swear I'm not complaining anymore about Solido prices increasing of 10 euros. More miniature cars please, this was so satisfying. Probably I would love to have the African wagons trio in 1/4th scale, the 528i impreza and 850R rigorously modified for Africa life😁

That’s incredible, there’s a company in Britain called “The Little Car Company”, that builds drivable models like this (smaller scale than the original car they’re modeling) and they’re awesome. Amazing craftsmen in Britain that’s for sure

I have a couple of amalgam models. They are by far the most detailed models on the market. They are truly works of art, I can stare at them for hours. Nothing even comes close in my opinion.

I never got into models because I simply have never had the patience to build them, though I do very much enjoy looking at them. The builder's have my utmost respect for the amount of patience and steady hand they must have to be able to put so much fine detail into their creations. Really amazing!

My dad always encouraged me to build models and over the years he has bought me hundreds of kits and I have so many happy memories building them with my dad ❤ these are expensive yes but are so worth it. The detail gone into building these is breathtaking.

Having a paid job building miniature vehicles to such detail is really a dream job. I'm jealous of those people working at Amalgam.
They all look amazing!

7:10 perfectly demonstrates my severe dislike of decals. The color mismatch and rough appearance on a £40, 000 model is atrocious. If pad printing is not possible they should have painted using stencils.

Older Autoart and Exoto diecast models did this kind of painting so much better, at a fraction (literally) of the Amalgam prices.

Like anything else, you have to pay for quality and these are true works of art by passionate craftsman.

I prefer to build my own but it is incredible seeing these, especially to see what amateurs like me can learn from them.
Pretty crazy that these models cost more than my actual 1/1 scale car which can drive and everything!
