My favourite too. So favourite that I used it instead of my Tenor uke without bass strings many times. The sound is better than all in-store Guitaleles I've tried, just couldn't leave it there so I bought it and playing for 2 years. Great review, great instrument!

I bought the ST16GE from a store in Arizona and pulled within minutes of whipping it out at a party. Awesome licks on all fronts.

What's also kind of cool is you can get a banjo sound out of it as well. Granted not like an actual banjo but close enough to have fun with it.

I just bought CARAMEL Six String Baritone uke in solid mahogany... Tuned as guitar EADGBE, so you can use as half size guitar for travel, or ignore bottom 2 strings and it;s a baritone uke, or capo it at 5th fret and its a guitalele as shown here on the gretsch, or ignore the 2 bottom strings again whilst capo at 5th and you have GCEA standard uke. FOUR instruments in one for travel... BINGO. Solid construction instrument for 99 pounds . Fantastic. I have collection of five guitars and 10 ukes but this is jumping to the top 3. I am left handed or would buy this gretsch.

Thanks for this... The frets/neck seem larger on this to me. How do they compare with the Yamaha GL-1 guitalele if you know?

Found it yesterday by chance at a local store online and then a couple of demos on YT totally got me hooked on it. There is one amazing experimental demo with effects

Nice review...exploring some travel guitars and love your idea. Also, great philosophy on making it fun instead of serious while on vacation. Thanks!

Thanks a lot for the demo and review! Do you have a comparison video between this one and Yamaha GL1 and Ibanez guitarelle? It would be great to hear same melodies on all of them. And thank you for the tips!! (Great to know it can be used as a uke)

Hey Phillip! One question, how did you get to put a strap on this guitar?

Good to see him pushing a Gretsch whilst wearing a Fender

is this a G9162? Also how do it and the Cordoba compare to the Yamaha GL1?

I guess Gretsch QC has slipped a bit since you posted this Phil, as I have already sent back 2 to Sweetwater. Fret buzz was just ridiculous. No truss rod to adjust limits one's ability to make any adjustments. Could just be my luck, but 2 in a row? Leaning towards mfg quality concerns.

What are you thoughts on the Kala KA-GL-KOA-E Guitarlele Satin Spolid Spruce/Koa 6-String w/EQ?

Great for practice, keep it by the desk or in the car. An instrument that is out and accessible will promote more practice.

This is a Guitalele. A 6 string ukulele has either the G or C string doubled.
Always use 2, mushroom head, strap buttons like a Guitar.
