No Rudders - No Worries – Repairing BareBare (Ep. 2)

🚤⛵ No rudders, no engine – just wind, oars, and a bit of luck!
In this episode, we embark on a challenging yet breathtaking journey through one of the world’s most stunning lagoons. With no outboard engine (stolen!) and no rudders (stored below deck), we have to rely on sails and small steering oars to navigate the eight nautical miles to Fare. The first stretch goes smoothly—until we need to turn...
Just when things seem impossible, unexpected help arrives in the form of Manea and Nahima, sailing an outrigger canoe. With their assistance, we manage to set the course and continue through crystal-clear turquoise waters, spotting stingrays and eagle rays along the way.
Join us as we row, sail, and drift through this paradise, proving that sometimes, adventure is best when things don’t go as planned! 🌊✨

🌺 Our Journey
BareBare is a Wharram Tiki 38, a Polynesian-inspired double canoe that we built ourselves and shipped across the ocean.

Love the way you shared plus the positive vibes!❤🤗 We're working on a similar project with our 65' catamaran rebuild! It's been challenging but rewarding, and we've shared some of the process on our channel as well.

Some work ahead of you...!! Wood and rain = rot. Best of luck

That rot is probably created by the plastic paint that traps humidity and creates rot, if you use crude tung oil instead the wood will breath and dry and soak saltwater to stop rot. Fresh water does rot both in morning dew and rain so you should pour salt water buckets regularly, i do that with a sailboat with balsa core on the cabin ceiling

The boat is cool but i guess staying in a village with these people is rather better, however the trip is good but the the hoarding dream is flawed
