Everybody loves a pom pom but nobody likes to make a pom pom pom poms. Pom Poms will make a boring hat pop and dull slippers look like cute little tinker bell slippers. Unfortunately, pom poms are super tedious to make. In today's video, we're going to look at several pom pom making devices to see if they're actually worth the price. We're going to be looking at four completely different pom pom makers and tasselers. We're going to find what works best and quickest.

i have the clover pom pom maker....yes the yarn can get caught on the feet, but there are things you can do, like lifting your arms up higher to miss the feet when you the pom poms they produce are well worth it....you can make them as light or dense as you want....to make it denser, just wrap a second one way on both halves, then make a 2nd pass coming back, just remember, a 2nd layer will make it a little tougher to cut....so make sure your scissors are well cared for, sharp and your mom's sewing scissors that we were NOT allowed to touch as now they are your scissors that no one else in the house is allowed to touch

I hovered over the thumbnail for a preview of your video. When the insert of the "scientists" popping the sphere came up and made me laugh, I decided to view the video, which I enjoyed even though I don't craft with pompoms.

I have #2 and it makes a great pom.

Thank you for the review. It took me years to pick one and your video confirms that my choice was a good one. ♥️

I k ow this was meant as a review but it worked great as a tutorial too! I own #1&2 and have never taken them out of their packaging lol I’ve just always used a piece of cardboard to make mine because it was quicker for me since I didn’t know how to actually use those.(I hate reading directions 😂) I’m happy to know I have the 2 best and now I know how to actually use them! Thanks❤️

Great review! I love using my Clover "OG" 🙂 I feel very zen when I use it. And the poms are plumper than with other devices.

I don’t like pompoms but if i did start making them I definitely would buy one of the top two, they look like a great investment that won’t break the bank! Thanks so much for the review!

Hi Alisha, I have the Clover pom pom makers. I like them but, I haven't been able to tie them tight enough so that the yarn pieces don't come out when tugged. As for storage, I use a clear over the door shoe organizer for stuff like this. I do many different crafts and the clear shoe pockets are great for everything from paint brushes to jars of rubber cement/modpodge. I think sandwich size ziplock bags work well for keeping all the small pieces of a tool together and easily removable.
Thanks for your fun and informative video. 🧶💜🤟

Can you do a video on how to keep a pom pom together for a hat. I made a 6 inch pom pom for my ribbed beanie, tied it together as tight as I could with elastic string, and cotton yarn I mean I really had thing tied tight and it STILL came apart after my daughter wore the hat for a week. Thank you Alyssa, I really like your videos.

Basically, the clover tassel maker made pom poms the way I learned how (over a piece of cardboard) except the center is hallow.

Basically, I cut cardboard the size I want it (about 4" because I still need to trim) and then wrap the same way you did the tassel makers. I tie the yarn the same way you did, except like I said the center is a solid piece of cardbaord. Then cut the 2 sides and trim to size. It only makes 1 pompom instead of 2, but I can make any size cardboard I want as a template and its free because I am recycling old cardboard packaging.
I know there is a way to do it from a circle piece of cardboard or from a fork, because I have heard of both on youtube but I never tried those. I like wrapping over the square cardboard 🤷🏼‍♀️

Thanks for the review! The red heart one did not come with instructions. I tried it and had the same result, 2 pompoms and two God knows what!

Love! Love! Love! Your reviews! This was soo informative! I bought the Red Heart maker. When I opened the package… SMH! I couldn’t even try so I threw somewhere. 😁 Now thanks to your review, I know it’s “ supposed” to work. 😮
I recently purchased the Clover pompom maker. Wonderful! Now I’ll try the Clover Tassel Maker. You are the best!!!

Thank you so very much for the review! I've never invested in one because I had never seen them "in action"... I'm ready to buy one now.
Personally, I liked the results from the #2 slot, the Clover pom maker. It's going on my "Grama Wants" list. 😁
