At the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA), students undergo rigorous basic training, including field exercises in Jacks Valley, to build physical and mental resilience. Successful graduates earn a bachelor's degree and become second lieutenants in the Air Force. Admission is highly competitive, with most costs covered by the Air Force, and cadets commit to military service after graduation.

Whatever people say about the air force. When you’re a grunt or else on the ground. And you don’t have a plane or training as a pilot. You never hear anyone on the ground saying this shit when you’ve lost half your buddies and you know you’re about to die. Then suddenly you hear the hogs or F16s coming to support. It’s funny to talk like this from a video. But life saving support of troops is never a joke. Also most grunts just didn’t score high enough to get to be in the air force. So say what you will. Every member is the military is an asset.

Air Force Academy is my dream school. I have lots of family who were or are enlisted, so my hope is to become an AMC pilot officer. Hope I’ll be there in 3 years from now

If I had the desire to go to college and the smarts to have gotten into USAFA I would've loved to be able to say I graduated from there on a CV but it was enlisted USAF life for me, it remains the best thing I ever did w/my life. The USAFA isn't easy academically and people say "it's a good place to be from but not a good place to be at" It's a hard 4 year slog to get through.

Thanks for sharing this video! I hate seeing the sly remarks in the comments people serving are a Team and it talks all players to perform when the need arrives. So, don't degrade each other you all are trained to do your part and fight side by side for the United States.

My sister-in-law was in the Air Force. She said the most grueling aspect of basic was not getting her poached eggs exactly the way she liked them when they served her breakfast in bed every morning at 10 o'clock. But she did like the fuzzy slippers and the relaxing classical music piped in over the speakers.

Imagine if they switched the cadets with Marine Drill Instructors

As a former USAFA appointee who spent some time at the USAFA base, I believe no more than half of the ROTC and OTS-produced 2nd lieutenants would make it through the Academy's program. I believe that ROTC and OTS are like watered-down alcohol compared to USAFA. Please experience something before you criticize it.

As someone who went to FORT BENNING “Home Of The Infantry”. This looks like vacation. Considering the Army DS already doing mass smoking people at Reception. After that going onto Basic training and AIT it would be mass punishment. Endless rucking and constant smoking. Also having to know your stuff or you’d get smoked. I do appreciate these people who are willing to try to serve. Goodluck to them!

It's a dream to become an Air Force officer through that academy, but it's lengthy and high standard.

Prior Navy and Army, Naval Air Reserve and Guard here.
I always considered the Air Force somewhat odd because its officers are the class that's involved in combat, and the enlisted are their ground support. This gives the branch a very strong civilian-in-uniform corporate appeal.
However, the Navy's ability to maneuver its nuclear missiles in its subs to global concerns and its aircraft on carriers to same is much more effective and efficient than the SOFA restricted Air Force; the subs are more efficient than the obsolete silos in the mid-west.
By 2050, the Space Force is expected to replace the Air Force entirely; the Army will reclaim the Air Force's air logistics, etc.
Jokingly, I always considered the Air Force the equivalent to the post office with jets.

Y'all who make fun of others are jokes of human beings. Service is service, a veteran is a veteran, and death is death. When you're in combat, it doesn't matter. You're all brothers and sisters. If you have served and you're still making fun and talking shit to other branches, regardless of how you were trained in basic or OCS/OTS, be ashamed of yourselves, you've served, you should know better. We all sweat, bleed, and piss the same, shouldnt matter if some branches have different techniques even if they're considered "easier." There's no need to bring more toxicity into it. I know about the jokes, I've been at that point with my buddies in the Marines making fun of other branches. Although they've said it themselves and more often than not, that every branch is still the military, and you are still equally brothers and sisters serving our country.
