According to the study, the ancestry only goes back 5, 000 years. The Tibetan language is classified as "Sino-Tibetan" which means it is related to Chinese. Now I can compare to a specific time period in China to consider what was happening in China at the time and what connections the Tibetan peoples have to the Chinese.

Tibetan language is classified as Tibeto-Burman and not Sino Tibetan.
