AtGames, WTF!? How to get the BitPixel working on a Legends Ultimate (ALU) 1.0 (including CoinOpsX)

I explain where AtGames messes up with the 1.0 install instructions for the mounting and hooking it up via USB. It's not as simple as it should be.

@1:23 FYI -. The anchors are for mounting the Bitpixel onto a wall if you wanted to.

Really appreciate this video. I was getting REALLY annoyed with trying to figure out how to mount this thing on my 1.0 ALU. Watched a couple of other videos and saw some other comments that didn't mention this problem at all, so am very glad you ran into the same problem and bothered to put out a video to help the rest of us. Subscribed and thumbed-up!

Updating to 5.22 from 5.21 on my Alu 1.0 fixed the problems, and now it's working perfectly!

I had all of the same issues. It took lots of patience and questions on Facebook to figure it out. It is great once you get it working, but you are 100% correct that they dropped the ball on installation instructions.

Great video. I thought it was just me in regards to the hardware, instructions and the connection issues.

I just installed my Bit Pixel on my 1.1 Atgames Legend Ultimate. I did have a problem at first with communication and then realize I needed to upgrade firmware but I was updated already they release firmware on Thursdays. I don't know if there is problem with the Power USB Hub that I purchase or the ALU. So I turn off the ALU disconnected all the USB cables from the hub and power on my ALU upgraded the firmware and then turn off the ALU reconnect the usb cables and power on the ALU and went to pixelcade launch it and then it work. The instruction are still not fix and I had to remove the Atgames lighted marque because I wanted to rout the wires to the power hub in the back that I installed. And the bit pixel turns off when I turn off the ALU. Thanks for the great review!

thx for the tips! Mine is a 1.0 from Sams Club, I had to use the B pattern screws (from the instructions) to mount mine (top center and bottom left/right). Replaced those 3 screws w/ ones from the bitpixel package and it mounted on it just fine on top of the existing marquee. With a hub (unpowered) on the right USB w/ the bitpixel and my flash drive x stick it worked great! I verified the dip switch by the usb was pointing toward the USB first prior to mounting. Had to swap out a larger USB stick for flash drive x now because I was previously using an old 512 MB stick which isn't enough for both coinopsx and pixelcade. Using a 1GB for flash drive x now (because that is what I had spares of lying around). Hope this helps someone!

I'm a 1.0 owner and tried installing mine last night. Frustrated and gave up. Ty for the video and saving me additional lost time.

All this it is still useless if the app can't auto start every system boot. It should just work when you're ready to play a game and not need to manual start the app everytime you boot in the system.

First thing I don’t like is the we need to have all this cables at front looks so messy

ooo, it supports the pixelcade REST API too, I was hoping it would since that is what it is effectively, wasn't sure it'd all be left intact by atgames!

I was having trouble mounting the panel to the 1.0 cab, so I measured the holes on the back of the bitpixel and compared them to the screws on the cabinet. They do not line up. Use the bottom corners, but nothing else actually lines up. It's off by about 1/8th of an inch too much.

I will be drilling new holes and using the wall anchors and screws that came with it.

Thanks for the vid. I couldn't get mine to work. I agree about the mounting. WTH were they thinking? Just provide 2 sets of screws that fit each version.

Great video. Were can I get ShuffleShot for my legends arcade? I could trade a complete Colecvision CoinOpsX for the Shuffelshot Games

Has anyone tried using the USB hub internally instead of externally? Also, has anyone figured out a way of turning off the marguee when not in use (other than just unplugging it)? Is there any way of hooking up the marquee in connection with the ALU so that they both come on together and power off together?

I assume your 1.0 is from Walmart? My Sams 1.0 has the same marquee screws as the 1.1. The screws that come with the bit pixel work fine on the Sams 1.0.

Thanks for the video.
