Playing your guitar really helps 😂. When I say that, it's easy to watch YouTube or whatever and think, oh you know my tone would be so much better if I own a custom shop this or an original this or that. But sometimes you just need to play what you have and get engaged with it. Learn new songs with your gear rather than buy new gear. that will make you a better player, and probably imrove your tone. I've done this myself, so I'm talking from experience here. I've played guitar for people, and the first thing they say is, do you know this tune or this song. Never have I had someone say "wow that custom shop strat really has that early hendrix tone compared with that mexican made strat you had." 😂

I have wired both my Strats bridge pickups to the bottom tone control and have beeb using the volume control as well . Really changes the dynamics for different styles . Nice vid !

Thanks. It's a great reminder to guitarists to work with what we have and fret less (see what I did there? 😄) about the stuff that we don't have

Never really utilized the pots until I got a Tele. The reason? No numbers on the knobs. For anyone who looks down sees the knobs not all lined up and that bothers them, change your knobs. Get rid of any visual indicators & allow your ears & your feel to dictate where the knobs are.

Fantastic video, Jeff! I believe that Joe Bonamasa also talks about this in an interview (he’s playing a Les Paul; points the same though).

I wired my strat so the neck tone knob controls both the neck and bridge pickups. That way I can control the tone of each pickup. It works well because the neck and bridge are never on at the same time and that way I don't have to sacrifice the tone control of any one pickup.

Tone and volume give lots of tone options, using a clean amp let's your hands get more involved in your sound. If you practice those you develop your own sound. Listen to Jeff Beck, his sound is mostly in his hands.

Let the treble bleed, man! I’ve had guitars absolutely come alive after installing a TB circuit. That said, I would never use one with P90 pickups. I like how they warm up when you roll down the volume and/or tone controls.

Nothing more satisfying than being at a jam, or a gig and having that great tone. Nothing more frustrating than being in a room and for whatever the reason, the tone is just not nice.
