Almost 40 years later, this song still moves me like it did when it was first released.

Luke when he looks over at her is so giddy. He's singing along the whole time and when she looks back he stops and tries to look cool. I love that he is just as big a fan of her as we are.

Tracy Chapman will not be repeated. A true storyteller.

This is the best Grammy performance EVER. It's also the best collab kudos ever! Chapman won a Grammy in 1989, then Luke won in 2024 for the remake---but instead of hogging the award stage for himself, Luke decided to invite the orginal songwriter on stage with him. Together they made history, and made a new song version in the process. And a the end of the song, Luke BOWED to her! Such respect!

You can see in her eyes this was a humbling experience. You must know if other stars sings the words out loud, you did something right. One of the legends of our time that didn't get enough recognition

What i love about these covers by newer artists is that it introduces these amazing songs to the new generations. Even better is when the new artists bring in the original artist and give them the credit they deserve.

My grandpa and I randomly sang this together the night before I knew he was going to pass away and it’s a memory I’ll never forget…brings tears to my eyes how beautiful this song is. I found out that it was one of his favorite songs

Sometimes a song doesn't need to be loud and bombastic, with slick rhymes or Thunderstruck guitar solos. Sometimes a song needs to be soft and quiet, so that you have to listen. Tracy gave us this gift of a song, and Luke brought it home to the next generation. And it was magnificent. And yeah, I cried.

Never been a fan of his music. But that he paid homage to her, was on stage with her, was in awe of her, and made sure he honored her in front of so many people. I have to respect the man for those actions.

I remember exactly where I was when I first heard this song. I was in a cafe in Bondi Beach, in my home town of Sydney, Australia. The song came through the stereo system and I got goosebumps. I'll never forget it and I still adore this song. When I saw this collaboration at the Emmys I was captivated all over again. Such beautiful magic.

When I traveled with the late John Denver we often talked about artists we admired. I mentioned Tracy Chapman and JD went wild. He LOVED her writing and performing. His statement ... as close as I can remember ... was "she's the product of the inner city the way I'm a product of being an Air Force brat."

I love how everyone cheers and loses it when Tracy sings. I loved this

When you have the talent you need the bare minimum. These two have so much talent that all they needed was a violin, drums, a guitar and their beautiful voices.

They both look so happy to be on that stage with each other and there is no ego and that is beautiful!
