I was asked to sing this song several years ago, but did not appreciate the sensitivity of the text or accompaniment. Now that I've heard Mr. Brancy's interpretation, I MUST sing this. I also thought it might be a bit low in tessatura, but the light interpretation here makes me feel otherwise. Merci beaucoup!

Je ne sais pas si vous parlez français, ou bien si vous avez procédé phonétiquement. Mais ce don’t je suis sûr, c’est la qualité de l’interprétation, de la diction, et bien entendu, de la voix. Je n’entends aucun accent, ce pourrait être moi qui le chante, et je suis profondément Français. Le respect du roulement des « R », la précision des voyelles et des diphtongues (prononcées ici en français contemporain). Je le chante, vous me direz. Je suis basse profonde, et de toutes les interprétations que j’ai entendues, la vôtre est celle qui déjà se rapproche de ma voix, et surtout celle qui m’interpelle le plus. Vous avez su transmettre une complainte non larmoyante mais pressante. J’ai offert ce chant, ce 15 août, à la Vierge Marie, en le dédiant à la guerre qui dévaste l’Ukraine, comme une prière.
