This game scratched an itch for me that I didn't know I had. To me, Twilight and Vampire Diaries ruined vampires. They used to be cool, now they might as well be elves. So good to be able to see something embrace the brutal, bloody side of vampires again while still providing an amazing core game loop.

Haven't seen this elsewhere so this seems like a good place to drop a tidbit some buddies and I figured out last night: build near water! In addition to the fishing stuff, eventually you'll be able to craft empty waterskins you can fill just by standing near water. So if you want to have an easy time keeping your horses hydrated, try to find some water to build close to! It also looks cool, but I'm just a huge fan of water features anyway...

I out my first castle just to the right of the cursed mines in the farm area. I figured that it was close enough to the starting zone, but actually in the farmland for later... also I was advised to pitch up at the farmlands anyway... in hindsight I may have went with a more ideal spot in the forest, as it would have been easier for the start of the game, but I'm sure once I start properly farming the farm area, I'll be glad to be based there.
