Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 for beginners

A basic guide on how to get started in Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 or Sony Vegas Pro 12 particularly for gamers.

If you are just starting out out video editing then this is a great piece of software. It is essentially a stripped down, cheap version of Sony Vegas Pro, but it still has plenty of features to be getting on with and is a good stepping stone up to Vegas Pro.

In this video i will cover the basic layout of the program and a simple procedure of how to get some video game footage trimmed down and faded in and out with some simple text ready for upload to YouTube.

Apologies for the slow pace, i'm just getting over a nasty cold and this was pretty much an unscripted video.

When your video first started I thought it was going to be boring. I actully stopped it for a second to go somewhere eles. However I decided to watch it anyway and man oh man I am glad I did. just posing this question for now. Can I do a png image face out / dissolve with the image at the start of the video, overlaying the playing video, then have the image melt / blend into the video and that's the last you see of it?
I tried things like a/b Cross dissolve with no joy :(

Can you overlay videos on top of one another using this software? For example I'm looking to start making gaming videos with a facecam so I'm just wondering if this option is available.
