My top 9 Vallejo Model Color Acrylic Colors. This video is just my top 9 plus 5 fave Vallejo Model Colors. I owe you guys this video for a while now, but I felI needed more experience and experiments with various colors, thus it took me a while to come up with this top list.

Ice yellow is the ultimate mixing color for highlighting without losing saturation too, unlike white.
Same with Dark sea blue for shadows, also great for stubble if you thin it down to a glaze.

I expected Sunny Skin Tone and Tan Yellow in this list. Love those colors, so versatile.

Ice yellow is the perfect color to add to most paints to get a highlight of that color. Dark Sea Blue is my go to for shadows. It looks really good when you add it to almost anything, especially skin tones for shade.

Great list here Don. Gave me some good food for thought. For general purpose shadows, I use mix Dark Sea Blue and Burnt Umber to make a nice chromatic black that I weight more one way or the other depending on how warm or cold I want a shadow. That White Glaze is just magical stuff too. I love it.

Well. Now I can say I've seen a beauty pageant for miniatures paints.
Not for painted miniatures, just for the paints.
If you asked me a year ago would I ever see this I would say no of course not. But I would have been wrong.
Good vid, too. I'll keep this list in mind next time I'm shopping for paints. Give some of these a try.

Thank you so much! This was perfect-- I was recently trying to find a list of favorite Vallejo colors as I convert from purchasing Citadel (I also prefer having understandable color names as i think about blending). So appreciate your comments as to how you regularly use each of your favorite colors.
