Doberman Puppy Update: 15-Weeks Old and SUPER SMART!

My Doberman puppy is growing fast and he's INSANELY smart already at just 15-weeks old! He knows a ton of commands and is learning how to behave in a family environment. He's progressing with housebreaking, potty training, socialization, and all other aspects. So in this update video, I go over where Arlo is doing great and where I think he is falling a little behind. Also, at the end of the video, we'll talk about the two unexpected behaviors I've seen in Arlo. These might just surprise you! Owning a Doberman puppy doesn't need to be a scary thing and I hope that by following Arlo's journey, you'll see what a great breed this really is!

Yes, with the doors! I have the same doorknobs, and my True has been opening the doors. He is now 17 weeks, but he has been doing it for a while. Here is one for you. My Ziva is 2. She started the door opening also as a very young pup. I wanted to keep her out of the bedroom one morning as my husband was still sleeping, so I put a kitchen chair against the door. She took a flying leap over the chair, opened the door, and landed in the room, all in one movement. Well before she was a year old. Sigh, lesson learned, put the back of the chair against the door knob. Be smarter than your dobe, if possible.

Darko as a puppy learned how to open doors too, he also learned how to turn on taps! He water! Almost flooded my house once by turning on the jacuzzi tub in my ensuite! Heard splashing around and when I went upstairs the jacuzzi tub was full of water and he was jumping in a out of the water. What a mess! Arlo is beautiful!

ive had dobermans my whole life and my last one that passed 2 years ago was the smartest of the bunch and i havent been able to move on and get another one. Its too much to handle when they leave you after 12 years of being your best friend. Theyre the smartest and best dog, there is no other comparison. I ve had all the breeds but theres just no comparison once you know what a doberman is. When arlo opened the door i just cried. Your a very lucky man, keep up the good work.

Such a handsome boy. My big boy met a new person today, granted he is almost 6 and is not really use to meeting new people, but he was so excited and as gentle as could be. Even if you can't get that experience in very young, still fit it it whenever you can for life. I so loved this video. Every puppy has a lot of love to give. Such a smart and good looking puppers. I'm jealous a bit.

He's so handsome! I've only had one Doberman and I was so impressed with how quickly he learned. I now have a 2 year old Boxer/Pyrenees mix, but maybe once this covid is over I can start up my house hunt and eventually get another Dobie for him to play with when I have more room.

My first donie used to open doors in the house, go upstairs, get into the bathroom, open a cabinet and take the toothpaste

She loved to eat toothpaste. But also she left absolutely no trace.

We just kept running out of toothpaste and then finding the chewed up tubes hidden.

She was great and I still miss her all these years later

My Dober has never piss or potty inside. He Learned at a young age. Dobers are really smart

Your puppy is so clever. Thank you for being so up front about his stages. I had a scared dog of other dogs and learned to pitch my voice high in welcome and he overcame it. I also taught my rescue fear biting 40kg or 88 pound Doberman the word relax by giving him a massage so he did really relax. If we were in a tight situation I could just put my hand on his head and tickle his ears and say relax to him and he would. He was always trying to defend me but he never had to.
