Usufruct in favor of the spouse and revised Swiss inheritance law

Do you wish your spouse to continue to live in the house after your death without being able to sell it? Do you want the surviving spouse to have the right to use a certain asset without ownership of the asset being transferred to him or her? Without this infringing the compulsory share of the joint descendants?
The inheritance accrues to the joint descendants. The spouse, on the other hand, receives possession of assets of the estate.
What new rules apply due to the revised law of succession? As a result of reduced compulsory portions, in addition to the usufruct, the available, free portion will now amount to half (instead of a quarter as before) of the estate.
What applies to the usufructuary bequest? What are the advantages and disadvantages of this benefit?
