Soil Erosion & Degradation Fundamentals & RUSLE2 Background for Virginia Conservation Planners

Chris Lawrence with NRCS leads a training session that covers the basics of using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation version 2 (RUSLE2) for estimating risk of sheet & rill erosion as well as certain other factors useful in conservation planning on cropland. Emphasis will be not just on generating numbers, but understanding what they mean and how they should be used in assessing and improving conservation performance in VA. The session will include a live demonstration of how to use the software and advice for installing it on non-USDA computers in VA.
