Dude.. The Strike has officially become a "Top 5" favorite band of all time in my book. The heart and soul that goes into their music/lyrics is unbelievable.. I think the last time I felt this way about an artist was when I first discovered The Midnight. Still holding out hope for stripped down acoustic (or piano) versions of "Looking For Love" and "Soundtrack". ✊

This song was the anthem I played to my then boyfriend as we journeyed in my car to Dallas to see the eclipse a few weeks ago. I told em this was us, nearly cried as I played it. Then like in a story book, during the eclipse, he proposed, and I of course said yes! Happiest day ever! And our journey didn’t stop then as my car broke down that night on the way home to Oklahoma. And even though it was raining, we managed to find a mobile mechanic who took his final call of the night for us and came out to get us on the road. Drove home after that in the pouring rain, but he was “riding shotgun in my car for the getaway”, all got lost for a sec there but I was lost with him, and it’s all that mattered. Thank you for this beautiful song, it came at the perfect time ❤️❤️

This is me and my wife’s new song. It strikes a chord so deep in our souls and it’s so beautifully written. I’ve always called my wife my getaway driver and we never really had a good jam for it. I love the way she looks at me when we listen to it. We are obsessed with this song. I discovered it yesterday and have heard it 15 times…And then theres the sexy saxophone solo. Dear god!
