Total Drama: Season 1 EXTRA: 'Video Message From Home' Shorts

In 2008, after the Total Drama episode "Trial By Tri-Armed Triathlon" made its U.S. premiere there, Cartoon Network aired a series of shorts featuring video messages sent to the final five contestants of the first season by their families (except for Leeshawna, whose video message is from her friend). Here all five shorts in (SPOILER ALERT!) the five contestants' elimination order.

Gwen: Mom is a bit cuckoo to the point where she hired someone to replace Gwen.
Owen: Parents are proud of him. No problems at all. Just normal

I honestly think that Heather developed her attitude by the influence of her parents. That tape was about to bring me to tears (not literally), but her attitude could've just been influenced by herself. I honestly think that Heather's parents never cared for Heather and would just be happy if she were gone. Which is why they started to pack up her room and get everything of hers out. Kind of sad if you think about it.

It’s said in canon the Gwen’s Mother is single and I’m guessing Gwen became a goth because her father died and that was her only way of coping with the grief. That also explains why her mom has gone a bit cookoo.

I love how in the camp episode Courtney says *"Your so vile, do your parents even like you!?"* Well I think Duncan's message from home answers that question
