Just did this on my daughters 2017 RAV4. Easy job to do, other than trying to get the rotor off on the drivers side...it required some pretty hard hits and penetrating oil to get off. Not sure you should put anti-seize on those bolts. The caliper bracket bolts should actually have some thread locker (blue) on them from what I understand, though I've never had a problem just tightening them up to spec. Only thing I put the anti-seize on is the hub where it meets the rotor surface, so next time it comes to change the rotors...they come off much easier.

Just a note for those doing brakes…do not use just any ol’ brake lube on your slide pins or any other rubber brake part. Most of it will swell and deteriorate rubber. Which can lead to seized brakes. Make sure it specifically says it is silicone based (silicone is rubber safe). Something like permatex silicone extreme in the red tube.

I bet you could do a great video on servicing that car, oil, filters and all. Please consider - thanks again.

Very educational, direct information and filming. Quick question, how do you know which size rotors to buy? I've tried part numbers from Toyota ect and keep getting mixed signals on which size to buy.

What was the last part of about pumping the brakes? I have a Toyota RAV4 XLE 2018.
I pump the brakes at the end but what do I need to be careful about when pumping the brakes/checking brake fluid?

😢

What grease do you use? Would "Lucas Oil Lithium Grease in White" work on the piston? Thank You

Hi,
At 13:38, what was that you're putting on the Piston? I want to make sure I get the right lube.

Should have brushed the hub face clean before putting the new rotor on.

I don't know why you have to remove that caliper just to replace brake pads? All of that cleaning can be done without uni stalling the caliper. Removing it just makes the job longer.
