It really doesn’t matter what kind of car you have, it’s never a good idea to take through a touch car wash. It will trash your paint.

Any concerns with using the brushes on your cameras or ultrasonics? The manual says do not do this, but not really practical to hand wash when it is below 30 degrees. I also put on 1, 500/month so need to wash every couple days.

If you hold park for a few seconds I think it makes it go to neutral

Thanks. Useful information. That wiper off button is stupid. Why do these companies do this?? I had a few dried water spots over my windshield cameras so my Model Y kept turning the wipers on at random intervals (and telling me the weather conditions are so bad autopilot won't work) I opened that wiper panel and...No off button.
There should be a simple Car Wash mode option.

I noticed in your video you took your Tesla through a soft cloth car wash and many Tesla Vloggers and Tesla owners manual recommend not taking the car through brush car wash.

#1 Don't do it.... Automated car washes are bad for your paint unless you are wrapped in PPF. Its not really debatable.. The car washes have cloths that are cleaning off the dirt from the cars. Even if those things are as soft as clouds (spoiler they aren't) they are not cleaned, they get the dirt all over them from the cars that have ran through before. Dust can cause micro scratching, dirt will absolutely cause micro scratches and swirling no question.

The only debatable thing is if these micro scratches bother you at all. Most people won't notice them, but after years and years of automated car washes you will start to notice.
