There are many proofs of the famous right triangle equation. This proof comes from the world's first calculus textbook. #math #maths #mathematics #shorts

Hey man! I read recently that few college students proved Pythagoras theorem using trigonometry, which was previously believed to be impossible. I would love to see your explanation of that proof.

Never seen this proof before and honestly I think it has instantly become my favourite proof.

This is so simply explained, it's annoying that I never viewed things this way myself.

This proof needs to be complemented by the observation that the sides of the rotated triangles meet at a 90 degree angle (some angle relations can be stated to prove this point).

And we know that both of the triangles we construct will have an equal hypotenuse because they both have a leg length of a and b.

For proof that India, Egypt, and China had this knowledge LONG before the Greeks and the west, find and read the book, "The Crest of the Peacock."

Easy proof
In triangle a=6, b=8 find hypotenuse
a²+b²=c²
So 6²+8²=c²
36+64=100
Root of 100 =c
100 root=10
Therefore
a=6, b=8 and c=10

Question!

What are the values of a, b, and c in this problem?

My mathematician me almost got a heart attack after hearing the word "clearly"

"Clearly" means I think it is but i haven't proven it.

That's a "opposite cathetus/hypotenuse" man

My favourite is Einstein's proof. Anyone who has seen it understands Pythagoras at a glance.

This is not really a proof. It’s just showing an example of the theorem working.
