We need a Mario Kart. Racing was always a genre that felt natural from the start on mobile.

seems very reasonable and modes an replayability are worth $10 makes sense for a mobile flesh out time killing experience and its the cheapest mario out the gate also i cant wait for android

If they added an endless running option, and offline mode, this game would be a no brainer.

Looks decent but the only thing that turns me off completely is DRM. Haven't they learned from Ubisoft?

7 seems fair for the current state of the game i guess, I'd give an 8 or higher once they start adding more to it.

Remember Miyamoto in the apple event announcement for super mario run said "you can play super mario run while holding on to the bar at the subway." Subways have no connection. RIP

how does it feel like a Mario game if most of the controls are taken away from the player?

If Peach, Luigi, and Toad all got their special abilities from Super Mario Bros 2 along with Yoshi's flutter - this would be way better

I wrote this as a reply in another review, but I'mma mention it here as well, because I see people on about the $10.00 price tag everywhere, yet nobody stops to consider just how grossly entitled the mobile phone consumer market is thanks to the conditioning of free-to-play shovelware violating its customers with ads and micro-transactions. Ten bucks for a quality game that offers hours of entertainment with zero ads or "buy our shit!" reminders is a drop in the bucket.

Also, this is a Mario game; a brand that Nintendo isn't going to devalue with a single-digit price tag.

Many mobile app developers lose sleep over whether to so much as price their games at all just because people don't want to give a shit. And the less people give a shit, the less devs give a shit about quality. Frankly, I hope Nintendo sets a trend, because somebody with influence and a set of balls had to try.

The only bullshit here is forcing internet connectivity during gameplay. That's appealing to the mobile phone industry and their encouragement to eat up data.

I'm glad they didn't get carried away and give it a higher score considering it's a glorified and premium priced version of Temple Run/ Flappy Bird with a Mario skin.

Managing your kingdom? wtf? They could've spent that effort on more levels.

Nintendo messed up big time making Mario Run their next mobile game. If they would have made a Mario Kart game instead they could have kept up the momentum they had with Pokemon Go. Plus, Nintendo should implement the GPS features of Pokemon Go into all their mobile games. Imagine if while playing Super Mario Run you could walk around out in the real world to find new levels to play at different locations. Or imagine a Zelda mobile game that turns your real world into an overworld filled with enemies to fight, puzzles to solve, and treasure to find and makes certain real world locations into dungeons where you can collect special items and fight a boss. Part of the reason Pokemon Go was a hit was because of the fact that it was an augmented reality game that used its GPS features to bring gamers together to play a game that interacted with their real world. Nintendo needs to make that a basis for all their mobile titles. Which is why Mario Run dropped the ball.
