TIM McGRAW TAKES 'SOUTHERN GIRL' TO NUMBER ONE

Tim McGraw charts the 35th Number One hit of his career this week on the Mediabase chart with his latest hit, "Southern Girl." This also marks the third consecutive Number One from Tim's Two Lanes of Freedom CD.

Tim said, "I think on every record there's a song that the fans take and make their own, and we saw that happen with 'Southern Girl' on the road this summer. It's been an incredible year and having so much success and three straight No. ones played a big part of that. I listen to country radio every morning without fail. Even after 35 of these, hearing your local DJ introduce and then play one of your songs will never get old."

Tim will perform at the 47th Annual CMA Awards on Wednesday (November 6th) where he is nominated for three awards -- Single, Musical Event and Music Video of the Year for "Highway Don't Care," featuring Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.

Tim tells us that winning awards is great, but it's also good to see new talent get recognized.

The CMA Awards will air live from Nashville on ABC beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
