Down syndrome puts major obstacles in front of parents, families, teachers, employers, society, and most of all, the individual. A cure could greatly improve so many lives...

My brother has down syndrome i wouldn't want him any other way. He enjoys life, he's happy & yet he doesn't get all the cool luxuries of life. I consider him a blessing & i learn alot from him. He doesn't see himself any different, he's amazing the way he is. He gets to experience the world in a way we cannot understand. Everything happens for a reason, the only mistakes are when we deny everything that happens for a reason.

I hope there is a cure...I can only imagine how those affected will react, and cannot wait to see their reaction to that which they were not able to understand before and now can.

To be fair to him, he called them mongoloids because he thought their features resembled that of mongolian people. He was just making a comparison to something he'd seen.

However, the downs mice did not have trisomy21. They had a downs like genotype engineered, not downs exactly.

Sonic fans got into science... we truly live in the end times.

I kind of disagree. The negative connotation of the word "Mongoloid" didn't come until after people with down syndrome were called that. It wasn't an offensive term back then.

You could make a video about haemophilia. Most people, including doctors, are not aware that there a different kinds and varying degrees of haemophilia. This information could actually save lifes since most people largely over- or underestimate the dangers. An example would be my last hospital visit. I went because of a possible concussion, though it was unlikely, and they told me that the delay was two hours which would have been enough to kill me if I really had inner bleedings. I than told them that I also had a medium cut in a hand that might need disinfection and within two minutes they wheeled me in the emergency room and I had to actually argue with the doctor about not being hospitalized because of a scratch...

Well my sister was born healthy and she randomly developed seizures, the worst part is she has all the different kinds which has made it harder for Doctors to detect ways of treating her. Unlike common people who have seizures hers can't be stopped with the injection they provided us it only sort of worked once, its up to her will power most of the times which is hard for her to overcome at the age 10.
The reason why they can't find possible treatments is cause the longer the Grand Mal seizures the longer damage to her brain for the lack in oxygen, as well as the longer it takes doctors to bring her back. So it becomes a game of risking her life and time.
While we know about certain procedures like removing a part of the brain it doesn't really apply to her because the seizures are not always being found in particular place but found in multiple MRI scan areas of the brain. The main issue we've been having is that she has a slight mental disability in little things that people wouldn't notice like reasoning, self control and problem solving. People make the assumption she's healthy and misjudge my mom by saying that my mom is "spoiling" her. It'd be nice to a do a video about other treatments because everywhere we go they just was to increase dosages of medicine that will damage her liver through time. Also I was wondering if there are other home treatments for grand mal seizures aside from Diastat cause it doesn't work and doctors say that is the strongest they can give but we aren't that familiar with whats out there.

I heard around 1991--2005 that a woman had a daughter with it and no license for studying pill mixtures cured her daughter & went to prison or jail for no license and it worked perfect, but never heard of her again . I don't remember her name if ever was told to me .

Cure is a strong word. I have Tourette syndrome. I don't know what "cure" would mean, exactly. But cannabis sure helps me control tics. Most people don't even know I have it. I just wish it was available in GA. Guess I'll just have to wait or relocate.

I'm curious as to why after having something minty (like mouthwash) it makes drinking cold water feel soooo much colder

Ehlers Danlos in all types would be amazing. I myself have it but even the doctors know so little about it, if there was more awareness and diagnosis it would help to create better treatment.
