15 Fast Food Chains Are Shutting Down Right Now

The fast food industry is facing a tough time in 2024, as the pandemic, the recession, the competition, and the changing consumer preferences are taking a toll on the sales and profits of many chains. Some of the most iconic and popular fast-food brands are struggling to survive and closing down hundreds of restaurants nationwide. Some of them may even go bankrupt and disappear from the market altogether. Fast food chains have long been integral to American life, ingrained in the cultural fabric and extending their influence worldwide. However, despite their popularity and entrenched positions in the market, the fast food landscape is not immune to shifts, challenges, and, at times, closures.

Kentucky Fried Chicken has been "hot garbage" ever since the chain was bought from Harlan Sanders, and his death years later. The MBA's running the chain cut corners, changed the name to KFC, and changed the basic recipe and the menu. The chain has been loosing customers ever since. Saw this coming years ago. Surprised it's lasted this long.

I wouldn't mind at all if KFC shuts down permanently. They're cheap in quality and overpriced. What I miss is the original Kentucky Fried Chicken that existed during Harlan Sanders' lifetime and when I was a kid. The chicken made my mouth water and tasted out of this world, they had corn on the cob that was so good and had soft dinner rolls instead of those rock hard biscuits.

Yesterday, 03/16/24, I ate at Applebee's & had a large salad & complete meal, i.e. grilled chicken, potato & vegetable,
for $12.50! Today, I went to Wendy's & noticed that their "pretzel, baconator burger meal" now costs $13.49! When
food in a fast-food restaurant now costs more than a "sit-down" restaurant, you know something is "out of whack"!

KFC On two different occasions cheated me on my order. I called their store and told them they shorted me on my order. They took my name and address and said they would send a coupon. It never came. A few months passed, and without thinking I walked in to a KFC. Placed my order, and when I got home I discovered they had shorted me again. I will never go there again. Glad they are leaving!

Good!!! An 8 piece dinner with 2 sides cost $28.73, no drink. The chicken is the size of sparrow legs and the thighs were humming bird thighs. KFC can Kiss My Ass.

Inflated food prices are the problem. The price of a burger/sandwich is now $8. I can go to the grocery store, buy a pound of meat, bread, tomatoes and lettuce and for $8 make 4 burgers/sandwiches, not one.

You can buy a rotisserie chicken with 2 family sized sides and 4 dinner rolls at most grocery stores for 15 bucks.

KFC way over priced. In California a simple value meal can be $20 or more.

I haven't been to KFC in years the pieces are so small it looks more like fried parakeet parts than chicken and the prices are crazy for the poor quality of food they sell you.

KFC stopped making potato wedges, corn on the cob, and made from scratch biscuits. The only sides they offer are macaroni and cheese, and powdered mash potatoes.
