I had $77, 300.00 in Student loan debt when I went through FPU in 2019. I paid that sucker OFF while interest was at 0% (i.e. the "pause"). And now... I am feeling amazingly smart. And relieved. And thankful. Keep preaching it, Ramsey-ites: the borrower is a slave.

I'm that less than 1% that continued to pay my loans, and now I've been debt free for over 2 years! Thank you, Dave Ramsey and your team!

A very good friend of mine was part of the less than 1% and worked her rear off, and paid off her student loans. I am so proud of her and all she achieved.

From April 2020, I paid $55, 527.49 on my student loan, paying it completely off in February of 2023. My total loan was just over 60k. So we were able to pay off nearly all of my loan in 3 years with no interest. It took a lot of hard work and sacrifice, but looking back, I will always say COVID was one of the best things to happen to me financially because I took advantage of it!

I also am in the <1%, and made my last payment on over $55k on September 8th, 2022. Such a blessing to be debt free, especially with this inflation lately. Thank you Dave Ramsey and friends!

I paid mine down to the last 10k, but continued to save on the side to pay them off in case forgiveness didn't happen. Just sent the final payment to get rid of the last 10k after the decision. Now debt free.

I just finished paying off the last $7k of my student loans last month and I’m so glad I didn’t wait on the will they won’t they. Been attacking the principal ever since the freeze started. Time to snowball those payment towards my car payment.

I graduated in 2021 and had plans A, B, and C. I’ve been paying the whole time since I’ve gotten my first post-grad job. Even despite the SCOTUS shooting forgiveness down, I’ll still be done with my loans by Christmas. Merry Christmas to me!

I paid more money when the Pause happened because it was cutting into the loan and no interest. I paid off over 40% of my loan two years into the Pause and ended last year in March. And this was all before even listening to Dave Ramsey.

I honestly think that the government shouldn’t be able to give thousands and dollars of loans to naïve 18 year olds. I only really went to college because I was at naive 18 year old and my mom told me that college is the way to success, and because of that, because I was naive, I listened and went through the whole student loan process. My biggest regret in life is going to college. I feel like I would’ve been much better off now had I not gone to college.

I never got student loans cause my dad paid for my bachelors degree. I plan to do the same thing with my kid and I’ll encourage them to do the same if they have a kid. I think this is the best way of going about schooling, just continuously pay it forward.

I'm part of that 1%! I paid off my student loans I'm December of 2021. There's no way I believed for a second the government would get me out of that.

My wife and I had about 10k left at the very start of the damnpanic. We held onto the cash for a few months and then just decided to be done with it. Debt free since Nov. 2020. You can believe the peace until you experience it for yourself. Since then we have built an emergency fund and started saving a house renovation fund. CASH is king.

Excellent advice. Something people that have debt need to hear more of. Pay your student loans back.

I will paying off my loans by the end of the year, I picked up a second job to make sure these loaned are gone by 2024!

For so long I’ve been living and spending like I’m not in debt since I haven’t had to make payments and now I’m forced with the reality of it. George convinced me to cut up my credit card and I’ll be joining an in person financial peace class to hold me accountable. After years of listening to Ramsey I’m finally going all in.

Thank you Ramsey team for your encouragement and straight forward advice.

I love this show. You are one of the very few voices out there not afraid to say how ridiculous this student loan program has become
