Fun Fact:
Monroe never wore the Chanel No 5 EDP Version, cause it came out in 1986!

She wore the Chanel No 5 PARFUM that has also different Notes than the EDP. =)

I am a huge No.5 fan as you can tell from my channel and my history/review (the story of how it came to be and how it evolved over the years with young ladies who became the grandmothers we love) of No.5 on my blog. My favorite version is the pure Parfum. It is like seeing a film in Technicolor and CinemaScope (Did someone say How To Marry A Millionaire?) where as the Eau de Parfum is like a wonderful old black and white movie (Monkey Business with Cary Grant and MM) . ...if that makes sense. Thank you so much for making this educational review, for people who don’t appreciate or understand it. I’m 18 and I love Chanel No 5. I don’t think it’s an “old lady” fragrance, I think a young attractive woman can wear it and make it sexy. I’d love to hear your review on the “Chanel no 5 l’eau” version. I love it as much as the original, personally.

Cleopatra soaked her sails in jasmine oil, which is indeed one of the most expensive ingredients in the world. Neroli is one of the most affordable.

Another of my all time favourite that I have been using for quite a number of years now .... it’s one of the most intriguing perfumes I own in my collection .... so fresh and powdery and romantic I have the exact same bottle you have eau de parfum ..

It doesn't smell like much in the bottle but it smells fantastic on certain.people.
By that I mean usually people that don't have oily skin or run warm like me not happy about that but the bath oil & shower gel I can work with and yes it's very luxurious

I'm 21 and I absolutely love the No.5 perfume! My cousin told me it sells like an old lady lol but I think any woman can wear it if you love it. I got the eau de perfum :)

Just to add, the EDP version is a different formulation created by Jacques Polge in the 1980's. Marilyn would have worn the parfum, cologne and possibly eau de toilette.

I remember many years ago going to a perfume shop to check some fragrances, one of them was famous Chanel no. 5, I wanted to know what's the fuss about, and... I hated it. But my mother liked it, though never had it cause it was to expensive, so few years back, when I could splurge on a gift for her, I decided to get her a bottle, and when I tried it second time after all those years, I actually liked it, it most certainly doesn't feel new, hip and ultra modern, but it also doesn't feel too old, more like classy old. Oh, and it's ee-lahng-ee-lahng.

Sorry to break it to you guys but this is *NOT* the same perfume Marilyn Monroe was wearing. The version of Chanel no 5 that we have today was made in the 80s. The original is long gone

You can actually smell the Jasmine.where i grow up, we had a lot of Jasmine all over neighborhood’s yard.i can definitely smell it and some of the flowers combined on it.

No5 does make me feel glamorous and sensual. I think many people are put off by the opening aldehydes. This is a shame, because as the perfume opens up (the 'dry down'), you get all the other delicious note. It's so worth your patience! It is a 'classic' for so many reasons, it's complex and sensual. Marilyn knew what she was talking about!
