Learn about some amazing properties of matter by making fake snow with sodium polyacrylate snow.

▶️ How to make fake snow with sodium polyacrylate:
Step 1: Using a scale, measure out 30 grams of sodium polyacrylate.

Step 2: Add the sodium polyacrylate to a 400 mL beaker.

Step 3: Stir in 400 mL of distilled water. Observe how the mixture changes.

▶️ How the fake snow experiment works:
The small amount of sodium polyacrylate absorbs every drop of water. Sodium polyacrylate is considered a super absorbing polymer because its molecular structure allows it to absorb 800x its own weight in water. Sodium polyacrylate is what most commercial diapers use to absorb moisture.

Man, I'm glad I'm not the only one who pours water on diapers and then tears them open. I thought I was weird.

I am sure that it isn't cold, correct? Also, how long does the fake snow last?

Couldn't you do videos talking about scientific topics to add some variation to the channel, rather than *only* short instructional videos? Like this video: I think it would've been very interesting to learn about what makes the experiment work - what is it that makes its molecular structure able to absorb water to such an extent?

You have my vote. This is views powerhouse! Implausible. but you've done it! Tight and neat. I have made you the Red channel. Let's meet more frequent!
