The Minsk Accord has long sailed away and never coming back. Russia has made too much sacrifice to give up territories now controlled by Russia. Zelensky had a golden opportunity for peace in April 2022 with the Instanbul Peace Proposal which was an exact replica of the Minsk Accord. Putin gladly accepted it, but Boris Johnson persuaded Zelensky to decline the offer and keep fighting. All Putin wanted was neutrality, but Zelensky's ambition to join NATO has left Putin with no choice but to take matters into his own hands. Here we are three years later with over a million casualties on both sides and lots of destruction that could have been avoided.
