It has been confirmed by his representative that Cody Longo, best known for his role as Nicholas "Nikki" Alamain on the NBC daytime soap opera "Days of Our Lives," has passed away. He was 34.
The actor and singer, also known as Cody Anthony, was discovered dead on Wednesday in his Austin, Texas home, reports TMZ. Wife Stephanie Clark, who was at work at a local dance school when she called the police to check on her husband, Longo, at their house.
Our entire universe revolved around Cody. My children and I are utterly heartbroken. When it came to being a father, he was unparalleled. Clark said in a statement, "We will always and forever miss you and adore you."
Longo, who debuted on the big screen in films like "Ball Don't Lie" and the 2009 "Fame" revival, was born on March 4, 1988, in Littleton, Colorado. Longo, as teen heartthrob Eddie Duran in 78 episodes of "Hollywood Heights" on Nick at Nite, landed recurring parts on shows including "Make It or Break It" on ABC Family.
In the same year that Longo made his debut on "Days of Our Lives," he also featured in two episodes of "CSI: New York" as Jo Danville's son, Tyler Josephson, and as Nathan Culver, the lover of one of the show's numerous victims, on "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation."
Alex Gittelson, Longo's representative, said, "Cody was a dear friend for over a decade, before he was a customer." To say that his lovely family has my heart breaking would be an understatement. Although he had taken a hiatus from acting to focus on his music and spend more time with his family in Nashville, we had stayed in frequent contact, and he was eager to resume his acting career this year. Cody was an incredibly dedicated friend, kind family member, and gifted artist; we shall miss him much.
In 2020, the actor was arrested for domestic violence. In 2021, after being accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old girl, Longo pled guilty to a lesser crime of assault.
Longo has just started filming "Do You Want to Die in Indio?" with director David Moreton.
His wife and three children survive him after Longo's death.
