I grew up in a church that even as a child I knew was Liberal. My family stayed in hopes of getting truth to people in adult Sunday School classes, I did my best at Youth Group. We left, twice officially, my parents were part of trying to start a new church, but my Mom (the BEST Bible teacher i have had the privilege to sit literally at the feet of!) and I even when i was an adult kept going back.

When she was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in 2017, my second thought was Who will teach them? I'm a poor substitute, but my gosh. .. liberal in the 1980s was nothing - that entire denomination is effectively a social club now. Megan Basham's book 100% resonated with me. Our compassion must always involve Discernment. Have a strong, personal relationship with God. Know His Word. Pray for discernment. These things are so incredibly important - not only to us, but our country. Our neighbors. Voting is SO important. Remembering that God has historically used the most surprising people is important! Heck, God even spoke through an actual DONKEY in order to save a life.

Sorry, just so passionate about this, i believe finally people are realizing that they do need God. That's exciting.
