🚚 Edison Motors: By Truckers, For Truckers! 🚚

🔧 Built by Truckers, for Truckers 🔧

Founded by Chace Barber and Eric Little in 2016, Edison Motors is a testament to the trucking spirit. Beginning with a 1969 Kenworth Logging Truck named "Old Blue," they journeyed from Merritt, BC, hauling logs to the Yukon and drilling rigs in Alberta. Frustrated with newer trucks, they rebuilt classics from the frame up, expanding into power generation and off-grid solar systems in 2019. Their journey led to the creation of the Edison Truck, a robust electric truck tailored to logging and heavy vocational industries.

🔩 Upgrade Without Replacing: Edison Electrification Kit 🔩

Keep trucks on the road longer with the Edison Electrification kit. Upgrade your driveline to electric without replacing the entire truck. Ideal for vocational applications, this kit is a cost-effective solution. Unlike other electric trucks, Edison Motors offers customer choice. Choose between Rebuilding (utilizing existing cab and frame rails) or Remanufacturing (brand new frame and chassis).

🚚 Payload Efficiency: The Weight Balance 🚚

Edison Trucks match the weight of a normal diesel truck. With reduced motor weight and additional fuel balancing out battery weight, experience efficiency and increased payload capacity. The L series, though slightly heavier, remains comparable to a normal diesel truck.

🛠️ Keep Your Equipment with Rebuilt Trucks 🛠️

For vocational trucks, keep your equipment with a rebuilt truck. Edison's e-pto and control system integrate seamlessly. No need to replace your entire body when upgrading to an electric truck.

It would seem to me a silent hybrid tow truck in electric mode at 2am doing a repo would be a repo man's dream.

What impresses me about this is how damn fast you've moved on this. It was only a few months ago that I first saw the video talking about making a pickup conversion. Super cool to see.

You had me at right to repair, that's awesome

This kit is basically what the Model T was back in it's day. Something anybody could work on and make into anything they need. Edison Motors deserves to be the next Ford if they continue to follow through with the right to repair

Hopefully the compact trucks get some love too eventually. I'd love a 200hp EV conversion in my little ranger work truck.

I am about to go find a junker truck with a blown engine JUST so I can justify buying a kit.

It's people like this guy that give an old guy like me some faith in the younger generation. Hopefully, there are more people like him out there.

The amount of applications for this is staggering. A true common sense solution in a world full of fluff and phoneys. Love what you guys are doing!

That tow truck concept makes so much sense. Hadn't even considered that, a brilliant idea :)

Used to drive haul trucks in the mines and they were diesel gen electric drive and I always thought why hasn't any truck companies done this for pick ups. Love to see someone doing this finally.

I think kits like this for RV like a class C would be awesome.

This is great! I run a growing lawn care business and we do all electric. Routes are dense with lots of stops, but not a lot of overall miles. Last couple years I've run a GMC 2500 6.0 with a 400ah battery bank in the bed to charge up tools, but the truck only gets 7mpg on the route. Hybrid and electric make tons of sense for what I'm doing and I'd love to convert my GMC down the road

"500 hp"
Wow that's pretty solid
"8, 000lbs of torque"
Holy holey jesus thats a big punch!!! It's been so cool watching you develop this business, its so refreshing seeing real innovation in the heavy equipment industry with both the customer, the environment, and the mechanics in mind.

Freaking sold! Just got my spot in line. The fact you're willing to make these servicable and open source as possible means owners will be able to DIY and keep these on the road. You're not in it for the money, you're in it for the passion and the cause. That's what counts most in life. Companies like yours give me faith.
Looking forward to watching the first few units get built out on Deboss Garage and other partners. Can't wait to take ownership. Probably in 2027 at this point lol.
Keep on truck'n guys!

You guys are doing more for progressing electrification of vehicles than any manufacture to date and bringing us something that will actually be useful. Even cooler is the fact it's being done by a bunch of regular folks from a small town in Canada, so awesome.

My goodness this would be phenomenal! Diesel electric has been in use for decades in the train industry

Oh Man! I have a dead, yet sentimental, '77 ford long bed that I worked on with my old man that I would love to bring back to life with this with. It is just an undesirable 2wd v6 long bed farm truck so I always thought what is the point but to resurrect it as AWD EV? very tempting. Thanks again for the amazing content and love to see Edison making strides and seemingly the right ones!

I love the right to repair.

I love the idea of retrofitting what already exists.

It has always baffled me that we are supposed to be "recycle, reuse, reduce..." BUT we are dealing with obsolescence, less ability to repair our own vehicles, machines, and devices, and being pushed to purchase the newest, fanciest, and most expensive brand new vehicles. Make it make sense... I love my vehicles and I keep them running. Its cheaper, better for the environment, and I don't mind tinkering with them. I don’t need or want something thats going to beep, buzz, and throw a fit with all the bells and whistles.

Good on you guys for doing what you're doing and I really look forward to seeing your progress! 😊
