His solo discography is very prolific and quality consistent it’s a shame that most of the people are only interested on his Beatles songs.

This whole album is as good as anything he’s done.

Paul said the line "I was nervous/But I did it/And came back for more" refers to the recording of Love Me Do, the Beatles first recorded single. In the original arraignment, John was supposed to sing lead. But George Martin wanted John to play harmonica and rhythm guitar, and in those days there was no overdubbing so Martin reassigned the lead vocals to Paul. Paul said he was "scared out of his wits".

This song, I am The Walrus and When We Was Fab could all be parts of the same song.   Love it.

Here is the story behind “Queenie Eye” (2013), as told by Paul McCartney : “Now this song, ‘Queenie Eye, ’ is based on a game we used to play when I was a kid […]. What you did to entertain yourself was go out in the street and play street games […]. And one of the games was called ‘Queenie Eye.’ What used to happen is one person would turn away from us and throw a ball over [their] head, which one of us would catch. And then we would say, ‘Queenie Eye, Queenie Eye, who’s got the ball? It isn’t in my pocket. O-U-T spells out.’ And when we said, ‘Out, ’ he could turn around… or she could turn around and look at us and try to work out which one of us had caught the ball, which, of course, we all pretended to have behind our backs. Anyway […] I JUST LIKED THE RHYTHM. ‘Queenie Eye, Queenie Eye.’”

HENCE THE TUNE❕

The original music video featured an impressive host of celebrities making cameo appearances : Johnny Depp, Kate Moss, Jude Law, Sean Penn, Jeremy Irons, Chris Pine, Tom Ford, Alice Eve, James Corden, Gary Barlow, Tracey Ullman… and one dancing Meryl Streep‼️ A MUST-WATCH❕

Mecca performed this at the 2014 Grammy Awards, backed by Ringo Starr on drums. 💙⚾️💚

"O U T Spells out...."

Anybody else remember the 1967 Beatles Christmas greeting?

This is like me writing a song called Doney Wackers, a game I played as a kid where we'd wack chestnuts dangling on a string together until one of them broke, now it wouldn't work as a song but Paul McCartney being Paul McCartney can take a childhood game that he played and make it work, the man is brilliant. Bob.

I haven't heard this song since I was 11. I'm 12 now. But I definitely still have appreciation and respect for him, the Beatles, and his works. So good and I enjoy them (him) by lots.
