EXPOSING STORAGE UNIT FRAUD! Manager Got SO MAD At Me!

We purchased an abandoned storage unit for $280, and almost immediately realized that we were being scammed! We discussed this with the manager and she got mad enough to admit she scammed us, so we had to expose the storage unit fraud! This was just wild!

Now that video got me remembering some of the storage horror stories I personally know about. One was in Santa Barbara, a 10x30 unit sold for $8, 000 and had 3 rows stacked with sealed new boxes holding “something “. The new owner opened them up and they were styrofoam plates and cups. But behind the nice new clean boxes “wall” was a huge amount of burned up “in a house fire” appliances that had been stored by an insurance company for future appraisal purposes. Another was in San Diego, a unit full of “covered with tarps” furniture and LOTS of boxes in the front. One old cardboard box was labeled “Grandmas Sterling Ware”. Nice and exciting, huh? Well, the new owner paid $12, 000 for the unit and dove for that box first. Opened it up and it was half full of dust pan sweepings from the unit. …..I know lots of these stories. But, there are also some incredible finds (at the honest units), but that’s a bunch of stories for another time. Oh, btw, Storage Wars, it’s a fake show, all staged. More than you would believe! I know these guys. …..crazy biz! Buyer beware!! 😜🤣😆

Marine gear. Not all things need a name. Can tell he did a tour in Hawaii by the stuff. I got the same stuff for my CPAP and would want to keep it. Another note, if that guy is active duty, they might be violating state law selling his stuff. Military get exemption in most states.

We had a similar issue and they finally admitted that it was a managers special event though they advertised as lien unit... complain to the auction house, we got a refund.

Almost like they sold it before when it was full and those people left all the personal stuff. Then the locker company threw in a few extra junk boxes from another unit.

Being a Marine we never leave important pictures behind. This Marine cared about his stuff unless no not even if injured they mean alot. Awards were never given out for nothing. Family treasure them. Someone went through it.

Ive heard that exact same thing happens in my area far too often which is why I chose not to deal with it as you and I both works for a living and to reinvest into our businesses and we shouldn’t be ripped off by crooked people like them who you can bet someone within that facility operates an online and or sales site location where they are essentially fencing all the property they have stolen. I’m just surprised they left you with as much as they did considering how they managed to take most everything of value! Furthermore, you should talk to other storage locker buyers who deals with that place to see what they tell you and if it involved a much larger amount of money then maybe trying to make contact with the customer about what they actually had in the locker is best, and in return for their cooperation you could offer them everything you found in the lockers which was mostly true in this case! You should have asked for that inventory list they said they made. My guess is they didn't make one and won't be able to produce it. I would have really tried to find the former owner to find out about what was in the unit. I don't think it would be that hard to find them. Unless they passed away.

This place definitely scammed the crap out of you guys! I wouldn't ever come back here until they fired whomever went through the unit's and stole items out of there!
