Thank you! I had a 4ah that the locking clips were not working anymore, and a 1.5ah that didn't change anymore. Was able to swap the clips thanks to this!

Thanks for video, didn't figure out the tabs (!) but even having watched your vid, I'm still haven't figured out the trick. I've tried extreme prying w/o success. (I'll edit post when I succeed! EDIT: Trick is to pry the tabs up, pushing the body halves apart. Once loosened, everything separates.)
ALSO, left tool out in small rain storm, the level indicator worked, put on charger, charged but shut off quickly indicating full charge. So I'm going to dry it out and hope I didn't fry anything. This is the HP + battery so I'll be really sad if it was ruined. NOTE: They need to make lithium/electronic batteries rain proof. I mean everyone at some point leaves a tool out that gets rained on.

It worked for me first try, i did feel the wires getting hot under 30 seconds and that’s all I needed.
Thank you for your Video!!!

Thanks for the video: I missed that screw at the top. After removing it I was able to get it apart. I'm building a 6 battery bank using the 6 battery bank charger. I needed one male battery plug so I could plug the unit into the 1000 watt Ryobi inverter. It's funny, I have been using the 18V Ryobi system for about 20 years yet it was difficult for me to remember where I put the ONE battery that actually went bad . The other 15 are still working perfectly. Maybe Ryobi needs to teach Apple how to make batteries.

YES! My battery in online again! 2x15 sec. was enough.

You can also use a small drill bit and drill through the plastic tamper-resistant screw-plug-- it's maybe 2-3 mm deep, so go gently.

Any video or suggestions on cleaning the batteries? They are a bit gummed up and I wouldn't want to use anything that will damage it. Thanks for the great videos!

Can you advise a source to purchase these top covers? I had an 18v Ryobi blower melt the plastic on 2 of my batteries. Thanks for the video! Very helpful.

Is the amount of lithium in the battery worth retrieving to sell for scrap?

Wow, glad you think we are all idiots not to be able to figure this out. plus zero info on how to fix a defective charger. Waste of time.
