Someone on Twitter did a hilarious prediction, back when this was first announced months ago, of what each episode would be: Colton goes to a gay bar! Colton meets homeless gay teens! Colton gets advice from gay elders! Colton and Gus hit the town! It looks like that person absolutely nailed it.

My son came out to me over the phone (while I was in prison for 10 years). I could hear his voice cracking and shaking. Still brings me tears thinking of the courage it took.

okay but what were not gonna do is use this extremely harmful “I abused and stalked my girlfriend because I was insecure about my sexuality” plot line

I'm actually happy he is addressing what he did to that girl. I legit didn't think he was going to talk about it so the fact that he is talking about it and addressing it shows he knows his wrong doings. Super proud of you Colton

I am a gay man in my late 60s. I came out to my parents when I was 17. It was heartbreaking for everyone. It did not go well. I got zero support and was told that I was an embarrassment... that I was a disappointment... that I was not to tell anyone in the family. My mother threatened to send me away to a place that used electric shock therapy which was popular at the time for conversion therapy. My parents threatened to not pay for my college and I would be on my own. They didn't go so far as to throw me out on the street as so many other parents had done but the emotional abuse was so bad I thought seriously of suicide. I had to backtrack my admission and convince them that I was just confused... that I was not gay and would live a straight life. I don't think they were convinced but this allowed me to go off to college and begin to live my true life. Things did eventually get better and my mother accepted that I was gay and my partner of 24 years. She died a few years ago. At the funeral, a friend of my mother asked me if I was still with the "girl" who I had moved to San Francisco to be with.

Mmmm ya idk about this.I’m glad he gets to live his life authentically and I guess understands what he did wrong. But I don’t think he should be profit money like this. He stalked and harassed his ex and from this trailer, it seems like they’re going to portray it as he did that because he was struggling about being gay. Like…ok…. people struggle over coming out all of the time, doesn’t mean you can harass and stalk someone. I also haven’t seen Cassie speak on this, so I can only imagine how she feels seeing him get a Netflix deal.

Shame on you for giving this abuser a platform. I don't care if you're struggling with your sexual identity, it does NOT give you the right to stalk and harass people. This re-traumatizes Cassie and signals to other abusers that they can get away with their toxic behavior. There are so many amazing people in the LGBTQ+ community who deserve a show - not this guy.

Just finished Season 1, it's excellent, I cried when he came out to his dad as I remembered coming out to my dad and he beat me because he was ashamed. That was in 1982, thank god the world has changed enough to have this TV show.

Your sexuality does not define you, bro. Its how you leave your mark on this world also how you treat people.

I think it is important that someone who are famous specially being masculinity came out openly like this. some people are skeptical about him or this documentary, but some people are affected by his courage and stop hating themselves.

I mean we could not give a whole series on Netflix to someone who stalked his ex. And try to make him sympathetic. Him being gay doesn’t change what he did

I just finished watching this. Going into it I had no clue who this guy was and I don't watch The Bachelor. I'm going to be honest, the fact that he is very good looking is what made me want to watch it. That being said, it is a very well done show and worth watching. It made me tear up quite a few times. I recommend it and I would like to see them continue on with more episodes actually.

Just because you're gay that doesn't mean you should be "GAY" in doing stuff you love. you can still be the old person you and just know you're gay. Just because you realized that you're gay that doesn't make you do your regular stuff differently. That's what straight people needs to know!

I just love how he's profiting off of his own internalized homophobia. What did he do, tell Netflix he was gay before he told his dad lmaooo

I’m sorry why did we give a stalker a platform??

How moving. What a great message Netflix. Let’s show people that so long as you come out as gay and you are attractive and white, you can be absolved of your transgressions as an abuser.

The conversation at the church, the priest/pastor said it right.... You dont live your life to redeem yourself from God, You live your life BECAUSE you have already been redeemed.

I have the same story as Colton. I still haven’t told my parents cause of fear. I’m just trying to find the strength and courage to tell them.
