I remember watching this concert on hbo as a teenager. I knew who Madonna was obviously but was a casual listener at best. But this version of this song made me a fan right then and there. Totally fresh and spontaneous performance. I think it was her playing guitar and this stripped back performance that proved to me in the era of slick pop bands and singers she was an actual fucking artist. Revisiting it now many many years later it still holds up great.

Everything about this production was perfect, and I love the tribute to flamenco. Madonna's guitar playing was a surprise, and she did a brilliant job. Also loved the innovative D&G outfit that started so many trends in the 00s. Probably the most passionate and dramatic performance of this song.
