My blue merle collie, Lemmy, is today 13, 5 years old… he’s had a full life, working with me for 10 years+ and now is a senior, just being at home, enjoying his last months in life…
No hearing, almost blind, bad balance, arthreitis, the whole nine.
He’s been the joy of my life since 3 weeks old and I’m sooo thankful for our years together. Such a gem!!

It’s adorable and useful to share with everyone all these interesting information.
But if you have collies, and love them, it’s also worth knowing the basics.
However, people can be amazing dog owners, just providing the most important things to their dogs, love, care, food, safety, grooming, regular exercise and companionship, veterinary care, and proper training.
Understanding and loving your dog is the most valuable part of being a puppy ownership!

I had a rough collie for 12 years. Even though her death was quite traumatic and slow, she was very graceful through it. She was a Barker but not aggressive at all. She's a great watchdog.

My boy just hit 76 pounds. Big boy! And oh, the barking. He takes his job very seriously, keeping things out of our yard - cats, birds, rabbits, etc. don't stand a chance. But he loves humans and watches over my chickens and bunny to keep them safe. On the downside, he has a strong desire to herd and chase trucks, bikes, golf carts, etc. and since we live on a corner, it can be annoying. The UPS truck is his nemesis. A fenced yard is a must. Also, keeping up with the coat is extremely important. Don't listen to those who say they only brush every few weeks - more like every other day or the coat will mat up in certain areas, needing to have them cut out.

What the hell is a’rough collie’?…. I had a collie for 14 years before she died…she was beautiful, intelligent and sweet. She died of cancer after that…..but I have never heard of a ‘rough collie’…I think you’re making it up…AKC only used the term ‘collie’
