I've just finished all 13 of the lessons and now have a bunch of strange and mostly useless but shiny Blender objects in my folder. But I have learned a lot, watching these at 6:00 every morning as a quiet way to start each day, with Grant's gentle voice guiding me onward. I just want to say...BEST. TEACHER. EVER. And thank you.

Hello Grant,

Thank you so much man, I started blender almost a year ago and found it really hard to understand the basics of 3d modelling which led to me having no confidence whatsoever that I can get good at blender until I found this series. You have helped me a lot man I appreciate it.

Thank you grant for these modeling lessons. I started these exercises just to have some fun but halfway through I started learning some really good topology fundamentals and hard surface fundamentals that I never thought I needed. You are a really good teacher and I am really happy that I get to be your student

I've really been thinking about how to improve my modeling workflow lately. So, thank you for making this video, it was just what I needed right now!

Aramis 3D is brilliant with Max and I'm sure he's going to be just as good with blender.

Hey Grant for the very first time I had this past week. Finally learned how to sculpt in Belnder. Gotta admit I didn't do to bad of a job for a first timer and it looks fun and neat abstracty. Also thanks for giving me new people to follow for tutorials.

I am amazed and appalled that there are so few hard surface modeling tutorials out there compared to stuff like sculpting and low-poly work.

That being said, I'm grateful that you've decided to dive deeper into hard surface modeling recently with your exercise series. it's also nice of you to do a roundup of what's out there, Grant, some of these channels are news to me.

I know you aren't particularly into HSM yourself, but are you looking forward to 2.90's Extrude, Dissolve and Intersect feature?

Some interesting recommendations there, Arrimus and Chris Prenninger i haven't come across before, but the others i've watched, Jayanam is brilliant, but he's moved away from modelling lately and makes more videos about Unity, Josh is one of the best hard surface modellers out there, but i have difficulty learning from him because he uses paid add-ons and keeping up with his workflow when you don't know what he's doing with Booleans etc is hard, although he has done some videos recently with vanilla blender which are great. CG Cookiee is pretty good, but top channel 101, i don't even class his videos as tutorials, they're all speed modelling to music, he doesn't even have screencast keys turned on, pretty much useless for learning from for me.

Hey, how about Hard Surface Modelling course from Creative Shrimp, is it still worth it or is it enough to buy just the latest course from them (50 modelling issues)?

Nice, do you know or have an example of how to hard surface model according to a technical drawing with exact measurements?

Hi grant, I am wondering if the creative shrimp modeling course is still worth buying in 2024? Currently it is listed lower than its initial release price because the blender version, used for the course, is several updates behind. I am very interested in the course and it is affordable but I thought I would ask prior to purchasing the course. Thanks!
