"This dragon lived a long happy life with an experienced reptile owner, and was humanely euthanized when it was old and starting to get sick."

I understand people may feel upset because it is a household pet, but this should not be given the hate it was given. It died of natural causes, and it provides natural nutrition for the beetles.

This video does not deserve so many dislikes, he did not kill the bearded dragon they passed away due to natural causes, this is educational and shows the decomposition. I find it interesting and so cool

My baby bearded dragon was right next to me when I clicked on this video. Thank god he was behind the phone. So he saw nothing.

I’m truly glad he lived such a long and happy life, best of luck friend.

My best friend was a beardie. Her name was Sara. She died 3 months ago because she was old and couldn’t push her eggs out so they rot inside her. We were too late to give her surgery. My vet said she would be fine. Seeing her die in my arms was the most devastating thing I’ve felt in my life. I cried the whole night with her in my arms. She was like my child. I have OCD so she helped me so much every time I would do rituals. When I buried her I wondered what would happen to her down there. Then I see this video and I’m like huh wow. But yeah anyways just felt like saying my story

While it’s always sad to see a pet that has passed, it’s good to know she lived a long happy life.
taxidermy is so fascinating, especially full body skeletons
thanks for sharing!

I can’t get mad at things like taxidermy. People grieve and remember their animals how they want to.

As someone who is obsessed with bearded dragons, and owns 20, this is one of the best ways I could ever hope to preserve my pet 🖤
I absolutely adore this video, and love seeing nature at work. You do wonderful work and make wonderful, educational content and I'm glad that I could trust someone so professional with preserving my pets and can't wait to have them home ☺️

Just going to say this, as a bearded dragon owner this is a bit sad but even I can accept that this is natural. It’s good for the beetles and for his job. And also gonna say this, no he didn’t kill it. It died of natural causes. And from looking from some of his replies it seems that it was dead before he even got it, as it was a gift ( correct me if I’m wrong). Thank you for coming to my red talk

This is actually very cool I’d rather have a taxidermy skeleton rather than a stuffed animal of what was once my pet.

Why are people hating on this?. Its not like they killed the bearded dragon it’s died of natural causes.

Someone should inform the upset people that this is exactly what happens to us, and loved ones when we are buried

I love how respectful he is to her remains. :) Yall, some people do this for artistic reasons, some people do this for spiritual reasons, ect. So yes. We would put our dog in there for the beetles to eat its flesh to get the bones and be able to keep their remains. This is not so different from cultures bringing out remains of their dead ancestors for celebratory reasons. Yes it seems wild and can be viewed as very grim and dark in nature. But only if you view death as grim and dark to begin with.

Also, Id love to get some of these beetles for my projects!

Jeez I couldn’t bare it to see so many people openly being ignorant towards this video YouTube really needs to crack on with the children roaming around this site and if you’re not a child…come on just read and get context before you comment.

Have you ever received education on decomposition in school? Do you know this happens to everything and everyone when they die unless they are preserved but worse, this is educational and if you don’t like the video why even click and bother to dislike it, you can see the thumbnail. You definitely deserve a subscribe bud this was very informative and a total contribution to natural history and education. 😃

I'll admit this was difficult to look at when it showed up as a recommended video *I have 4 bearded dragons* but it's a fascinating natural process, all part of nutrient recycling. I'm glad she lived a good long life!

GUYS READ THE DESCRIPTION, HE DIDNT KILL IT. if you think he kill your the sick one
hey, nice video, the explanation of the process was neat. Im sure you dont but, dont let those... ignorant comments made you sad, please, you didnt do anything wrong, actually the opposite.
Im glad that you take his corpse and feed it to the beetles, as the ecosystem would do in the wild.
