Hey everybody! Thanks for watching this video on "Ranking the GRAMMYs: BEST NEW ARTISTS". I think the Grammys are super interesting. Trying to judge music (or any art) on some objective, material scale like that, is kinda crazy when you think about it. And while Album / Song of the Year are the big ones, I think Best New Artist is a fascinating category. Who's hot right now...and who will stay successful / popular as the years go on? Constructive critique: You should put more space in between each group of awards that you're talking about. Especially if one doesn't happen to be looking at the screen to see the quick little '#' change. They tend to blur together.

Paramore was also nominated the same year Taylor and amy were, and they would’ve been a solid contender on merit.

So I'm a big jazz fan and your assessment on Spalding is completely wrong. She's actually done several albums that have been extremely well received in the jazz community, and her last album one the best jazz vocal performance album at the Grammys in 2020. It also reached number one on the charts for jazz. So she actually is extremely successful and I think you're biased as well as you not knowing just as well or at least contemporary jazz really misinformed you on this because I think you should have maybe googled or Wikipedia her to actually say if she has been successful afterwards because she's never going to be a pop or R&B success.

I feel like Taylor Swift has shown that losing this category can't make or break your career. Her reaction to this lost led to making Fearless that won AOTY.

"The Beatles went up against some nobodies" and Tom Jobim is on the list. Dude's one of the most important names of Brazilian music of all time and he's the singer/songwriter of The Girl From Ipanema, which is one of the most played and praised songs ever.

Are you seriously making fun of the other artists nominated alongside Adele? She truly deserved to win, but hell, that year was stacked with talent. All artists, except for Duffy, have continued to make relevant music with sizable fanbases. And although Duffy disappeared for awhile, she had a more than valid excuse.

The disrespect and lack of musical knowledge in this video is ridiculous. On what planet is Jazmine Sullivan a nobody? She literally just performed at the Superbowl. Also you don't know who Jill Scott, Brad Paisely, or The Jonas Brothers are? How do you run a music channel?
