I like the grass you are showing this on. This looks like a golf course. In the alps starting areas are often rocky with high grass and sometimes not so nice thorny plants in it. But we have mountains... you can't have it all ;)

I learned this a couple weeks ago, mainly to get the wing upside down to get any dirt sand a chit out of it. Then to right the wing again. Very good technique to learn.

Unbelievable! Last year I could do this no problem, this year no way. I was thinking it's the new wing, but lo and behold I was forgetting to walk over, duh!! Thanks Greg!

I don't know why, but this is my favourite thing to do when ground handling/messing around

Cool tip! I'm gonna practice. It happens all the time so I'll get plenty of opportunity.

I’m not done practicing this but at least I can flip it back over when it’s over its nose. I like it. Will work a bit on avoiding it flying up (banging up and down 😅). Glad that was a school wing 😮

Probably the best explanation I have ever got on this. My instructor was just like, do this and that and bippity boppity boo, magic and it's up which was zero helpfully.

On my home site we can't really walk up the dunes with a field pack, its too steep and the loose sand will just give way underneath. So this becomes my favorite launch method when the wind is at exactly 90 degrees. In those circumstances there is a bubble of stagnant air right against the lowest few meters of the dune that make it near impossible to really do any kind of normal groundhandling. There will be a layer of very strong wind right above that followed by the venturi on the crest of these low (maybe 20, 25 meter) dunes. Very easy to get surprised and overpowered by that sharp gradient. Starting at the bottom on the beach and kiting the wing up the dune with the leading edge down and dragging over the grass gives me the best chance of staying in control. Impossible to get plucked that way.
