If the only purpose of prophecy was to complete the Bible, why is it that none of the prophecies of the 4 daughters of Philip were recorded in the Bible? The gifts were mostly for the edification of the church with some exceptions like tongues that were either for personal edification or a sign to unbelievers (diversity of languages). If the Church still needs edification, then the gifts of the Spirit are still needed.

““ ‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:17‬ ‭

This channel always comes through biblically. Well done again.

The answer is ABSOLUTELY!! No doubt. These gifts were given to the church for the last days, they were NOT given to the just the Apostles. There were 120 in the upper room (NOT 12).

The completed gospel has nothing to do with the gifts. The message and messengers still go forth today.

So if the gifts of the holy spirit are/were for the apostles, then why does Paul in Acts explain how the gift of tongues is to be done in the church?

Of course they are for today. NO where in Scripture that God has stopped doing this.

The gifts still are for today.

“And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”
‭‭Joel‬ ‭2:28‬ ‭

Love this channel but 100% disagree . It really doesn’t make sense if God and the Holy Spirit still heals and does miracles then how are the gifts of healing and miracles not for today ?

Joel said the gifts are for the last days.

Our heavenly Father would not leave His children defenseless. He is not wicked.

If He acted for Israel under the old covenant because of His name sake, how much more now for those of us under a new covenant, established on better principles.

Thanks Abba, we love you too .

Apart from the Apostles, Philip and Stephen perfomed miracles

⏺There were prophets from Jerusalem whose prophecies are not recorded in Scripture, except by Agabus, incl. concerning a famine, a warning that was acted upon:
Ac 11^27-30 ; (Ac 13^1)
⏺Also, the prophecies by the 4 daughters of an evangelist at Ceasarea are not recorded in Scripture (women were probably allowed to prophesy in church but not teach); the prophet Agabus also gave a prophetic warning to Paul:
Ac 21^8-11
⏺Timothy received personal prophecies concerning his ministry and Gift:
1-Tim 1^18 ; 1-Tim 4^14
⏺It seems that the Gifts will only cease at "the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ"; knowing now only in part until we see Him face to face:
1-Cor 1^7 ; 1-Cor 13^9-12
⏺Some disciples at Ephesus spoke in Tongues and prophesied after receiving the Holy Spirit, these prophesies are not recorded in Scripture:
Ac 19^6
⏺Judas (surnamed Barsabas) and Silas were also prophets:
Ac 15^32
⏺Also, why would God inspire Scripture for us concerning the orderly use of Gifts in the church if already expired? These Gifts, including prophecy, are given, not to add to Scripture, but to edify and equip the church:
1-Cor 12 & 14 ; Eph 4^8-12
⏺Jesus and John warned us against "false" prophets, not against all prophecy; test the spirits:
Mat 24^24 ; 1-Jn 4^1-3
⏺We should not despise prophesy:
1-Thess 5^19-21
⏺We are encouraged to desire the Gifts, especially prophesy, but are given by the Holy Spirit as He wills:
1-Cor 14^1 ; 12^11
⏺So then brethren, stand, and hold to the traditions which ye have been taught, either by *word*, or by our *epistle* .
2-Thess 2^15

This is very true. God still dispense gifts, just not to the extent as new testament times.

Revelations 11:6. This guy missing so much. Stephen and Ananias had the gifts without being apostles. Be careful of disclaimer doctrine like this guy has. “Holy Spirit can buttt, God can butttt”

The Nine Gifts of the Spirit are absolutely still operating as He wills. It’s easily provable.

Such a blessing to see that the majority of Christian’s have not bought into this lie. The spiritual gifts are still being dispensed into this day. I have witnessed, healings, casting out demons, dreams, visions and other wonders that are by the hand of God. Nowhere in the Bible does it say the gifts would cease and as other comments already quoted Joel there are many verses to say the contrary.

When Paul said in 1Cor.14.18 I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all. 1Cor.14.19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue. Wasn't he specific about that? Of course man can't teach with an unknown tongue. I am happy I speak in tongues!

Please do not buy into this speculative nonsense. Most of what he presents is false and in no way is corroborated by the Scriptures. Paul said to all believers “seek earnestly the best gifts but rather that you prophesy”. To suggest that we don’t need the gifts of the Holy Spirit because we now have the complete Bible is such utter nonsense. Jesus said “Tarry in Jerusalem until you are imbued with power from on high”. He didn’t say “wait until the Bibles arrive”!

Why are they called "miraculous gifts" in the first place.

Denial of Divine Providence is closely related in Deism. To believe that miracles cease is similarly absurd. People that quote 1 Corinthians 13:8 failed to realize knowledge is in that verse. Are we saying Knowledge cease to exist? Are we saying anything that comes after chapter doesn't apply like

1 corinthians 14:5 I wish you all spoke with tongues,

Well anyways, Thanks for the video.
